The Smithsonian National Museum of American History has launched its "Price of Freedom" web site exhibiting detailed multi-media presentations on American military conflicts from the Revolution, to the War on Terror.
This is a great information resource especially for those members with children.

Remembrance Day Parade
For those going to the Remembrance Day Parade in Gettysburg this weekend, we are unaware of any Army of the Ohio units attending at this time. The 5th is invited to fall in with Birney's Division (Cedar Creek).
Birney's Division will meet at the staging area at the middle school at 12:15 pm. Be reminded that no caps or powder are permitted in the National Park. Please mention to General Kelley or the Adjutant that you are from the 5th Ohio.

The last Army of the Ohio meeting of 2004 was held in Mansfield, Ohio on 13 NOV. The 5th's Capt Buehrle and 1st Sgt Smith attended. The first order of business was the election of 2005 organization administrators and the the field commander. Last year's team, including Chairman Gary Sprang, were reelected. Our new field commander is Colonel Jim Ruley. Also in the discussion pool was the list of potential events the Army of the Ohio will participate in during the 2005 reenacting season. This list will be discussed at the 5th Ohio monthly meeting on December 9th as we begin to formulate our upcoming schedule.
